My Star Mako3 is more stable and very straight, and the Champion Mako3 I have thrown seemed to be just a tad more stable than the Star plastic. Here’s our guide to the best Innova discs to throw forehand (also known as “a sidearm” and “a flick”). I have been playing disc golf for 28 years, and the Comet has been in my bag for at least 20 of those years. Source. I use it for straight shots, long arching hyzers, rollers, force annys, long approaches, hell it’s not even that bad a putter. Faster armspeeds shouldn’t have to worry about turning it over, and newer players who find the Roc fades out more than they’d like, the Emac Truth should be just the right fix. I love Comets and would dig a swirly ESP MJ Comet. The mako3 is my go to mid range, it flys true almost every time. Love my lucid or fuzion emac truth. Sits and stays. MD3 is my favorite. Also consider: The Wraith, which is a favorite among forehand specialists like Sarah Cunningham and Koling. Dynamic Discs EMac Truth best mid range on the planet. Short tee shot, upshots, scramble: Gator every time. The definition of Point and Shoot. !echostar! I need another fuzion though. So unloved and misunderstood by fellow golfers until I chuck it like a laser through a tight, wooded fairway. !dx! Exactly the feedback I was hoping for. I wonder about a regular Mako, but after trying 117 different midranges I never did get around to throwing a Mako. That’s the best midrange I have. I would go with the opto compass. For me it the MD3. It can hold a hyzer line, throws straight at full power, and that glide lets the anny come to rest without the fade back. I found one with no name on it, Lucid-176g, early in the summer. Feels great in my hand, I like the flat profile and it is a predictable flight with minimal fade. !starlite! I remember it as been just so sweet. As Lizotte misses his birdie putt, Nate also takes home the 3rd place in the tournament! It is a pure, straight flyer that disc golfers of every skill level love to use. Similar feel on the rim and easy to make go dead straight or hold a right turn. I have the first proto the only one in 189 g. Yes you read that right. !metal flake! It has a soft hyzer line. Would a meteor be more similar ? These things can handle some torque! If you don't mind the bead/rim, the Comet is slower and glidier but is a lot like a Mako3. If chosen for the giveaway, I would like to choose a Buzzz. Best midrange is a flat top Z Wasp. It does what the buzzz does and does it better. I throw a Buzz religiously and haven’t found a better one to throw yet!! Why the Leopard? I promptly threw my first ace within the second round! The discraft buzzz is an absolute staple in my bag. I have a collection of excellent decodyed designs, full color foils, and various cool stamped throwers. Dependability is my first choice! It is a great approach disc for more experienced throwers who can master its very overstable flight. !gstar! So far I prefer the buzz to the roc as it goes straight when I want it. It will be interesting to see how this disc performs over the next few years as well. Harp all the way. And have the metal flake team stamp in 180 g in orange and pink. var new_url = wpvl_paramReplace('height', new_url, height); Absolute best midrange and sadly Oop is the ESP FLX Buzzz. The obex is the most consistent midrange I have ever thrown. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, Press J to jump to the feed. I’ve thrown most of the mids on this list and I really like them, but regardless of whichever new mid I try out I just can’t resist reaching for the Buzzz. This disc will hold any line I put it on. I love the MF gator for approach shots, shorter drivers, and for putting on windy days. !pro! } I’d have to go with the Emac Truth for sure. I love my buzzz and tried to slot in a buzzz ss and OS to cover my mid slots but the SS wasn’t flippy enough for me. !starlite! !champion! Predictable in the wind. I use it more thamaybe any other disc. My Glow E-MAC MD3 is my absolute do it all disc. For me my eclipse axis is my go to mid-range. 6. Great for all the wooded courses here. Westside is the best side! I use my champion and XT atlas more though. Ever since I got a Mako3, I’ve always had one in the bag. I haven’t tried one yet, but I love to throw a Comet. All in all, one of the best mids on the market. I can throw an anny, hyzer, or dead straight shot with it and feel good about my disc choice. It has been part of the game since 2003. I don't understand why you would change all your discs bc a pro is. Everyone wants to throw far, especially off the tee. Been throwing a buzzz almost as long as I’ve been playing, which isn’t really that long but still, it’s the best! Far and away the most popular disc in the Discraft lineup, the Buzzz is a staple of the disc golf world. It’s time to keep naming the absolute best disc golf discs in the world! My favorite use for it by far is a forehand roller. My favorite is Dynamic Discs Truth. This disc should be in every players bag no matter what. Champ Gator! Not to mention how durrible it is. The Discmania MD3 has grown in popularity as Discmania team members like Eagle McMahon have been throwing it all over the course. Throw farther. And the prime plastic verdic, man oh man does that thing fade hard. Again, not for beginners, but still a great disc that fulfills a great purpose for those who have learned how to throw it. When you’re in the muck, look to your trusty Pig to pull you out. I know where it’s going everytime! The mako can be thrown on all types of lines with little effort. It is my favorite because I can throw it very straight with little fade at the end or throw a straight to under stable shot, or I can try a hyzer flip. I also really like the infinite discs Chariot. Its missing from my bag but need a Metal Flake Gator! I bag 3 of these mods. So there is that. Sometimes a flippy Fuzion Truth, sometimes a more stable Lucid or Emac variety. Fuzion Verdict. Latitude 64 Core (Opto) – Understable/Tunnels Just have to have another . For my arm speed it is workable for more lines. The “flight numbers” don’t do this disc justice. I throw an eMac Buzzz SS for the Mako3 slot and the flight numbers are nearly identical. I trust my Justice to go about 200 feet on a roller, which has helped me save many strokes. SS has a flatter top too which is nice if you are that way inclined. I probably have more love for mids than any fairways or distance molds. Diacrafts Wasp and Hornet outperform the buzzz and comet. Holds any line I put it on when it breaks in, and is still forgiving if I’m a little off. I have one midrange at the moment and i think the buzzz would be a great addition to my bag. !star! I like throwing the Fuzion Truth into a tail wind. I’ve been playing over 8 years now, and the Buzzz is still in my bag. The last 2 were with my lucid eMac truth and recon big jerm mortar. Hyzer: For a right-handed forehand shot, the disc flight arcs to the right, which is useful for traveling around obstacles on your right side. I’ve never thrown a Buzzz. Love em. It worked great and I still bag one. !dx! Take home the prize. Right-handed images shown. In conclusion, I would never try to replace my Mako3 with a different disc because it will be superior to anything it is pitted against because it is just that good. Admittedly, if the hole ends to the right, there is a very high chance I will throw forehand, but there are many players who might feel more comfortable putting the mako3 on a flat to anhyzer release for those shots.
