The use of all POSCAPs on the rear of the card, behind the CPU. Are you sure it is locked at only 0.7mV? Any ideas to optimise this? I know is not the best model however I am planning to install a waterblock in the future anyway so wasn't too interested in paying more for better air coolers/heat sink. If the test drops below the 97.5% in framerate stability, the test will stop (fail). It's easy! You already know the first article, but of course you can read it again here: GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Undervolting When Reason and Experimentation Meet NVIDIA Ampere. Usually you just increase the clockspeed, sometimes with an extra increase in voltage and presto! Also, if your undervolt settings is just enough unstable to drop a frame or two in total under the full run, that could lower the score aswell of course. Started 8 minutes ago Temps could be better and other then bumping Memory, have left pretty much all at stock other then custom fan curve. ASUS RTX 3090 ROG Strix 24 GB OC GPU in great condition with two years warranty left. By When I first tried, I crashed at 825 (iirc) around 1800'ish mhz, can't remember exactly where I had it, but definitely in that ballpark, if not right at 1800. StickyPC Vinicio I have MSI 3090 SUPRIM X Settings: Undervolt at .825 PL: 67 Memory - 200 Fan: 80 % Hash rate 99 Mh/s Memory junction 102 - 104 degrees centigrade Any ideas to optimise this? Otherwise, the default setting will run the card in around 120 watts. Other mags like HardwareLuxx and Computerbase have already tested this. We save here compared to the Gigabyte @Stock 85 watts and compared to the standard setting of the TUF 65 watts at least! Posted in New Builds and Planning, By Im willing to drop lower and save more power/heat if this is the case though. The heaviest settings possible I'd like to compare with my results. A standard RTX 3090 Ti sports a thermal design power (TDP) of 450W, with some Nvidia board partners outfitting their custom RTX 3090 Ti models with a TDP exceeding 500W. Started 47 minutes ago My room is 28c right now so the temp is higher. Press J to jump to the feed. NCSGeek It may not display this or other websites correctly. I expected the card to be power hungry at stock, and it was, by sucking up to 400W to achieve 1900MHz on Heaven. Also remember that just because we could undervolt our cards to a certain setting does not mean your card will work the same. The Nvidia 3000 series cards tend to have high memory temperatures, so it is important to take care of proper cooling. It might be even better or need a bit higher voltage. I just started doing this also ichill 3090x3 gets so bloody loud temps hit 74c and that's with fps locked @ 85fps @ 3440x1440 i dropped it -200 and set it 1755mhz and it very quiet temps 56-64c and get same fps. I saw many people to change rtx 3090s 4x but gained silicon lottery on same volts 30-45mhz yeah not good. Cinebench R23 (Multi Core) 23006 @ stock. Interesting that you say it doesnt affect performance by as little as 2-4 FPS. I expected the card to be power hungry at stock, and it was, by sucking up to 400W to achieve 1900MHz on Heaven. Does MSI gaming trio has better memory cooling? GDDR6X temperatures for that card peaked at 100C. Thanks in advance! Now I own a 3090 TUF OC that is able to hold 1800MHz at 812mV, quite a nice result if I may say so: I've tried stretching it to 1860MHz, but it starts warming up more and becoming not so stable (frequency wise), I also am very concerned by any temperature increase since the VRAM chips on those cards run very hot: Nice tip about this Pure RT benching tool. Games crashes after a couple of minutes. Lose all my peripherals and displays but the computer is still on, once sent to warranty they say the issue didnt occur, Time Spy ST: 98.8% 330-340W Stable frequency, Port Royal ST: 99.6% 340-350W Stable frequency, Pure RT: 34.5 FPS 360-370W Stable-ish frequency (some drops to 1785MHz), Time Spy ST: 99.4% 350-370W Stable frequency, Pure RT: 34.3 FPS 370-375W Unstable frequency (1740-1815MHz). Does MSI gaming trio has better memory cooling? Posted in Networking, By I had a 3080 TUF that, according to my old notes, was stable at 1800MHz and 837mV. From what Ive read you can set the voltage around 800 900 mV for the RTC 3080 and 750 800 mV for the RTX 3090. In the end you should set the volate to a value, test it with stress test-software, if it works possibly lower it a bit more and so on. It seems that the power hungry design does make it run hotter. Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. What I and I'm sure many noticed is that it is all. I would describe my cooling as relatively good. From what I've read you can set the voltage around 800 - 900 mV for the RTC 3080 and 750 - 800 mV for the RTX 3090. So do you slide your power slider all the way up then, when set your curve to 1890@850? Any 3090 users here who undervolts care to share their undervolting results? The picture in the title achieved stats in row two below, just below the stock row. Edit: If my GPU was able to do that, I would use that setting. You are using an out of date browser. After running the Port Royal Stress Test again, I need to lower to 1830 @ 850 mV so I guess I'm not too far off from your results. This is probably why my score is higher than yours. Card ate 480w in an instant lol. I am hitting 3700rpm and the fan speeds stay there once ramped up. I also noticed that by default the card sets the target temperature internally to be 70C despite a temperature threshold being set in MSI Afterburner. Started 9 minutes ago If I go below 1800 the hash rate will drop a lot so it is kind strange. In game mine clocks to 2025mhz with these settings. Apply the curve using the apply button on the main afterburner window. Nvidia RTX 3060 Overclock. But isnt the Kingpin vBIOS like hidden from the public? Because then your card is freaking amazing man. Edit: temp is 60c. I didn't think this was possible. It seems that the power hungry design does make it run hotter. Then I adjust the voltage curve / undervolt until Heaven freezes or crashes. about. You have already briefly seen the values of the TUF 3090. I can only hit 2190 at 1.17v in game I see other chip can do 2225 at stock voltage. This isnt anything new either and has been done both to GPUs and CPUs to helt them with thermals although I think it still isnt as knows as overclocking. Since every card is different I will mainly show you how to do it on your own card. Honestly worst and best card are close to 300mhz difference overclock easily, rtx3090 has high silicon quality fluctuations. Drag the dot to the frequency you want. At 2200RPM I can hear my 3090 but it really isn't loud at all. So my settings was 1815MHz @850mV, with 137% powerlimit. I linked the full results in the original post if anyone is interested. That's the part I don't quite understand the 'why' of. Lose all my peripherals and displays but the computer is still on, once sent to warranty they say the issue didnt occur. Still trying to find optimal settings for my X suprim, so far I am most happy with 725mv / 1350mhz, + 500 memory. Only tried maxing out the power slider. This test was carried out with stock settings i.e no undervolt etc - You can see a few things: Thing is, constantly hitting that hotspot high can slowly damage your card. 1 When Heavenfreezes or crashes, I bump up the voltage a tiny bit, until Heaven doesn't freeze or crash. My 3090 can't do that, and it's a shame, because Optimum Tech reports his 3090 draws 71 watt less at 1800MHz using 806mV and that'spretty good. 110 MH/s and below 290W. So I just settled in with 850mV and 1815MHz. Yes for sure. - Lower power bill (like anyone really cares). RTX3090 have a few flaws. And since you say nothing is special, is that because it all comes down to the GPU itself that is used on the card? With these I'm getting 122 MH/s at 314 W using excavator. I rolled up the sleeves and got down to tweaking, it seems pretty stable at 1800MHz with 800mV. What I saw better undervolt results had the guys from end 2020 and batches from March and later were cards with lower silicon quality in most cases, just luck I know. 133xx PR.
